Knicker Kittens Newsletter 2
Happy summer!
Spring took it’s time making it to summer here in Sweden but when it came, boy, it came with a vengeance! We’ve had tropical heat for several weeks now, and it’s very nice indeed, just what we needed after the winter we had.
Upcoming gig next Saturday
The Knicker Kittens celebrate Pride by taking it off at Rosa Borgen, Gärdet, Saturday July 31 sometime around ten in the evening. Madame Magduschka celebrates even more by hosting the Riksteatern stage in the park! Talk about being proud to be a Kitten during Pride!

A slew of sizzling solos by your favourite Kittens, and extra fire power provided by the three most recent additions to the ranks! Prepare for a spicy chili con mucho carne… Be there, or be icy cold and lonely! Tickets on sale now.

Fun times in Sin City!
If you read the last newsletter, you know we spent the first part of June in Las Vegas, Nevada, with some of the most talented burlesque performers out there! Not only intensely inspiring debutantes like the scorching hot lady with the red boa Coco Lectric, the best Zorro in the world Jett Adore and those girls on the toilets, but also incredible veterans (old and new) like Dirty Martini, Michelle L’Amour, Tiffany Carter, Joan Arline, Dee Milo, Miss Indigo Blue, Jo Boobs, Tigger in an amazing clown act, Julie Atlas Muz in a magically reckless routine to Waiting for the sun with the Doors, and Kitten Deville who inherited Dixie Evan’s Hollywood routine for the Legends Night show on Friday.
The competitors were all amazing, as always, and we were happy to see the Evil Hate Monkey showered in trophies alongside Ms Tickle who performed her spellbinding take on the fan dance in the debut category. Other favourites were Trixie Little on her pink valkyrie deer cake, Roky Roulette because he was so friggin’ deathdefyingly crazy, Lux Lacroix for her MAD dancing skills, and Nasty Canasta for her very innovative routine indeed! So many talented performers! It would take a book to mention them all…
In the troupe category there were four groups, but in total I think there were actually fifty performers backstage! Mostly thanks to wonderful Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society and their 23-performer-ice-cream-dessert routine! As for crowns, Monkey took the Mister Exotic World Title, Miss Exotic World went to Roxi D’lite, not entirelly unexpectedly. Ms Tickle took the best debut trophy, and the very skilled ladies of Michelle L’Amours Chicago Starlets took the group trophy.
So, besides dancing and watching shows in our smashing synchronized outfits we ate a lot of buffet food, cooled off in the pool as much as we could because of the 100F/43C heat, everyone got a touch of cold thanks to the insane airconditioning, we visited a wedding between Swedish burlesque starlet Jolie Étoile of the Glam-o-Drama Gals and her man Joakim, lost all our money at the black jack table and/or at Williams Costumes and made tons of new friends in the international burlesque community as well as rekindled our passionate love for the worlds most amazing hostess, Miss Astrid!

SBF preparations underway
This October the Knicker Kittens bring you the first annual international Stockholm Burlesque Festival, and there has indeed been no rest for the wicked these last summer weeks. Instead, the Kittens have been buried in festival planning, organizing and logistics for your burlesque pleasure! Many burlesque performers have also done their bit by applying to perform, and right now the application committee is hard at work sifting through a mass of applications to plan the shows in October. Stay tuned, it’s going to be an incredible event!
